RM520 Monitor — Privacy Policy

RM520 Monitor is a desktop application published by alphabeta.systems that monitors and configures a Quectel RM520N-GL 5G modem connected to your computer. This policy explains what the app does with your data. In short: the app runs locally and does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data, and it contains no advertising or usage tracking.

What stays on your device

• Modem & SIM data — signal levels, bands, operator, IMEI/IMSI/ICCID, GPS position, SMS and raw AT-command output are read directly from the modem over the local USB/serial connection and shown in the app. This data is never sent to alphabeta.systems or to any server by the app.
• Your settings and APN profiles are stored locally on your computer (in your user-profile folder and your operating system's per-user preferences). They are not uploaded anywhere.
• The app has no account, no login, no advertising, and includes no analytics or usage telemetry — it does not "phone home."

Optional online features (third-party connections)

Some features you choose to use open a direct connection from your computer to a third party. The app sends only what that feature needs, and the data is then handled under that third party's own privacy policy — not by alphabeta.systems:

• Download operator profiles — fetches the public Android (AOSP) APN database from Google (android.googlesource.com).
• Maps — loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap when you view the GPS / cell map.
• Speed test — measures throughput via fast.com (Netflix) and/or Cloudflare when you run a test.
• Cell-tower lookup — queries OpenCellID (opencellid.org) only if you enter your own OpenCellID API key and look up a cell; this sends approximate coordinates and the cell identifiers to OpenCellID for that lookup.

If you do not use these features, the app makes no outbound network connections.

Permissions the app needs

• Access to the USB / serial (COM) port to communicate with the modem.
• Network access for the optional online features listed above.

Download statistics

When you download the app from this website, our web server records the request — as any website does — so we can count downloads. This is standard server-side logging on alphabeta.systems and is separate from the app itself, which contains no tracking.

Children

RM520 Monitor is a technical tool for modem hardware and is not directed to children.

We may update this policy as the app evolves; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
